Community Notice ~ During the last 24 hours the City of Dana Point updated Agenda Item #18 Documents so they are now in a complete readable format.

During the last 24 hours your Dana Point Boaters Association has been working almost nonstop to obtain the Dana Point City Council Agenda Item #18 Documents to post to our website. Unfortunately, the notification came out yesterday but, the actual agenda document are mostly unreadable. Today we've been working all day to track down the original documents and complying them together into a readable format on our own. We've been in email & phone correspondence with OC Dana Point Harbor & City of Dana Point. The City this morning was able to provide use with a CD in the original Word .doc formate and also .PDF files which we have now complied herein. The following document originally contained 520 pages, you will note, pages 55 thru 165 are NOT numbered because these pages were removed and reinserted by us from the original document file provided to the City. Please remember some files are very large and may take a bit to download depending on your internet service provider. We have complied this document into the following 6 break sections: November 18th Agenda (Please DO NOT use the agenda link for document, it's mostly unreadable for over 200 pages) Item #18 Section #1, Section #2, Section #3, Section #4, Section #5 and Section #6

To ALL Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade of Light Skippers: This years Boat Parade of Lights Skipper's Meeting is scheduled on the exact same night November 18th, 2014 as the upcoming Dana Point City Council, Dana Point Harbor Revitalization CDP Appeal Hearing is scheduled. The Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade of Light Skippers Meeting is scheduled to starting at 5:00PM at the DWYC and the Dana Point City Council Meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00PM at the Dana Point Community Center.
It is unfortunate that it is falling on the same date as the Appeal Hearing. Boaters are able to stop by Dana Wharf after that date to pick up the Skippers Rules and their numbers if they cannot make my meeting. Our meeting starts at 5pm, so they could stop by, pick up their info and go on to the other meeting.

The City of Dana Point has responded to our Public Recorders Request (CDP Appeal Hearing Documents) with the following documents that are now finalized from OC DPH, County of Orange. We are still awaiting the receipt of the other CDP appeal documents that will be a part of the appeal hearing scheduled for (at this time) Tuesday, November 18, 2014. The following, are only two parts, of the significate issues, that were appealed by California Coastal Commission. The first document is the revised "Wave Uprush Analysis" and the second document is the revised "Dana Point Harbor Shoreline Management Plan". Both these document are very large so please be patient when downloading!

The Board awarded a contract to John S. Meek Company, Inc. in the amount of $1,422,051 for the construction of the Island Way Roadway and Bridge Rehabilitation Project.
The Project, located in Dana Point Harbor, will remove and replace the deteriorating pavement to enhance traffic movement; resurface the bridge deck to repair the concrete; construct new curb ramps at existing crosswalk to improve pedestrian access and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards; and repair and install protection on the bridge piers to suppress future corrosion.
The project will entail a construction period of 45 days and specialized work needed to dewater in preparation for the work on bridge piers. The short construction duration is related to regulatory permit requirements and coordination with planned Harbor activities at the marina in March 2014.
